Working from home is here to stay, and with its popularity only increasing, there’s never been a better time to maximise your efficiency and comfort. While every work-from-home situation is unique, there are guidelines that can improve anyone’s home office and remote workday.
Follow these tips to find out which works best for you.
1. Maintain a Clean Living Space
When there was a clear division between office and living space, it was much easier to let a little, or a lot, of clutter slide. If your remote office is your bedroom or living room, the boundary has gotten especially blurry in the last two years.
Keep dirty dishes and clothes to a minimum in your work area, and you’ll immediately notice a sense of relief when working. Decide whether you want to do daily cleaning before or after your work hours, or use your break to tidy up.
2. Use a Whiteboard to Stay Organised
Maintaining a tidy workspace goes hand in hand with a clean living space. Keeping things neat includes not only cleanliness but also organisation. Most of your schedule-important dates, appointments, or daily routines can be kept on a digital calendar, but often the best way to keep your priorities straight is with a physical reminder.
The inclusion of a whiteboard vinyl can be a game-changer. Sometimes the old school way is the best way and this is one of them when you work from home. Plus, it minimises the amount on time you spend staring at a screen.
Combine your whiteboard with fun stickers, sticky notes, or colourful markers. Keep your daily routine, mantras, and upcoming projects in a space that will remain even if your Wi-Fi starts to act up.
3. Take Breaks from Screens
It may feel like your tolerance for screens has gone up, but you can actually work longer if you take care of your eyes before they become strained. There are a few simple tricks you can employ regularly to keep your eyes healthy.
The 20-20-20 rule is simple and effective: look at something 20 ft away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.
It’s also wise to take a 5-minute break away from your screens once an hour. While it might be tempting to stick it out on the computer for several hours straight and take a longer break to compensate, you’ll find better productivity comes from short, frequent breaks.
4. Plan Your Meals
With your work world always at your fingertips, you also realize food is also just a few clicks away. While there’s nothing wrong with supporting your favourite restaurants, working from home affords you precious time to familiarize yourself with your kitchen and make some delicious food yourself.
At the same time, it might seem daunting or time-consuming to be cooking two or three times a day, but if you can set aside a Sunday afternoon to prepare even a few days' worth of meals, your stomach and wallet will be grateful for consistent and tasty home-cooked meals.
5. Stick to a Schedule
Working from home has given remote workers an incredible sense of freedom, and at first, it’s daunting from a scheduling point of view. Whether your work routine is similar day to day or changes fluidly, it’s instantly easier to focus on the week’s priorities by maintaining a schedule.
A useful trick when looking at the whole work week is where to allocate the most focus. It’s smart to plan important meetings or do the bulk of work early in the week, that way you’re not scrambling to make up for lost time or endanger your weekend.
Maximize Home Office Comfort and Efficiency
Remote work schedules have revolutionized the lifestyles of thousands of workers by giving us the freedom to work from the comfort of our own homes. While in-person work affords some concrete structure, it’s easy to stay focused on your work from your own home office by following these great tips!

Have you already decided on a wall sticker (or two)? What’s stopping you from making your choice?
If it’s worry that you won’t be able to put it up and make it look as good as it does in the photos, you’re in luck. Below, you’ll find two methods of applying Wall stickers. Our step by step wall sticker application guide will help achieve the perfect finish.
If you haven't made a choice yet, have a look at Our range of home wall stickers for a nursery and designs for workspaces and office branding.
Don’t worry! Applying a wall sticker is actually much easier than you might think. Here are a few things you need to know:
In addition to the decal, you’ll want to have a roll of masking tape, a pair of scissors, and a squeegee on hand. If you don’t have a squeegee, a credit card is a perfect substitute for a professional finish.
Begin by laying your decal out on a flat surface, such as a table or wood floor. If there are multiple pieces be sure to lay it out exactly as you want to see it on the wall.
Decide where you want to apply the sticker. Position your decal into place. Using the top corners, hold the sticker against the wall.
It is a good idea to use a spirit level to Make sure the decal is straight.
Before you go any further, it’s a good idea to ask someone to stand a good distance from the Wall and critique your placement. Is the sticker level? Is it at the right height? Once you are 100% certain you are happy with the placement, position your decal (or the separate pieces) into place and secure it using a long strip of masking tape that is vertically placed directly down the middle of the decal.
Now, on one side of the masking tape hinge, pull the backing paper (thicker solid paper) away from the vinyl and application tape. Once the backing paper has been peeled away, cut it off with a pair of scissors and smooth the sticker into place.
Then, do the same thing to the other side but don't forget to move the masking tape hinge over so that you can remove the remaining piece of backing paper.
Make sure everything is completely pressed flat and doesn’t show any bubbles. This is when the squeegee or credit card will come in handy. Take your time, as this is crucial to prevent unsightly bubbles or creases.
Next, carefully and slowly remove the front sheet of paper. (This should be done very slowly to make certain none of the sticker is lifted off too.).
Again, do this slowly to prevent it from taking off any of the stickers. If this happens, push the application tape back down and rub it securely into place before you continue pulling away from the tape.
Be sure to pull off the masking tape, as well.
How do you like the final results? Fabulous, right?
Now that you know how simple it is to apply Wall stickers, it's time to order the perfect stickers for the walls of your home. Whether you prefer an inspirational message, something a tad more unique, or a beautiful tree that brings the outside in, you are sure to find a wall sticker you love.
