A logo wall sign does far more than fill an empty space. It shapes first impressions, reinforces brand identity and sets the tone for everyone who walks through the door. Material choice plays a huge role in how that sign looks, feels and performs over time. Texture, depth, finish and durability all influence the final result, so understanding your options helps you make a confident decision.
Metal signs bring a sense of permanence and authority to a space. Stainless steel and brushed aluminium are popular choices, each offering a distinct finish. Brushed metal creates a contemporary look that suits corporate offices, while polished or powder coated finishes can add colour and contrast while also fitting in with your brand colours.
Durability makes metal a strong option for both indoor and outdoor use. It resists wear and maintains its appearance even in high traffic environments. Fabrication techniques such as laser cutting and CNC cutting allows for sharp detailing, giving your logo a crisp, professional finish. A well designed metal sign often works beautifully when paired with subtle lighting, adding shadow and depth that enhances visual impact.
Our acrylic logo sign remains one of the most versatile materials. Clean lines and smooth edges create a sleek appearance that fits perfectly in modern interiors. Clear acrylic can be layered with printed vinyl or raised lettering for a dimensional effect, while coloured sheets provide bold brand consistency.
Lightweight construction makes acrylic easier to install than many heavier materials. It can also be cut into intricate shapes, making it ideal for smaller designs with fine detail. Gloss and matte finishes offer further flexibility, allowing businesses to match the tone of their space. Acrylic often delivers the polished look of glass without the weight or fragility.
PVC foam, sometimes referred to as Foamex, offers a practical and cost effective solution without sacrificing quality. Its lightweight structure makes it easy to mount directly onto walls, which is particularly helpful in larger installations.
Foam signs can be made in a thicker depth compare to metal and acrylic however colour options are limited, most commonly to matte black and white. PVC foam presents a smart option that still delivers a professional result.
What Is Your Budget?
Our Metal and acrylic logo signs are similar in price while our 20mm foam signs are usually more expensive due to the thicker material used.
Do You Want The Sign To Stand Away From The Wall Or Sit Flush Against It?
All of our wall signs can be used with stand off mounts or be fitted flush against the wall however acrylic and metal are the most popular when combined with stand off mounts to give a raised 3D effect.
How Intricate Is Your Logo?
Our 20mm foam signs have a limit on the detail that can be cut due to the thickness of the material. If your design is very detailed we recommend to go for our acrylic logo option.
- Pros: Highly durable, weather-resistant (suitable for outdoors), and offers a professional appearance with various finishes like brushed or chrome.
- Cons: Can be more expensive and may not be the best option for extremely intricate shapes.
Beyond metal, acrylic and PVC foam, several other materials can elevate logo signage. Wood introduces warmth and texture, especially in hospitality or retail settings where a natural feel is important. Glass creates a refined, high end look, particularly when paired with etched or frosted detailing.
Composite materials combine durability with design flexibility, while illuminated signage options such as LED backlighting add drama and visibility. Fabric wrapped panels can soften acoustics while displaying branding, offering both visual and practical benefits.
Material choice should always reflect your environment and brand personality. A technology company may favour acrylic or brushed metal for a clean aesthetic, while a boutique hotel might lean towards timber or layered materials to create atmosphere. Consider lighting, wall type and installation method before making a final decision.
A wall sign becomes a focal point within your space. Selecting the right material ensures it not only looks impressive on day one but continues to represent your brand with clarity and confidence for years to come. View our full collection of wall signage here.
